The Tomaquag Rock Shelters in Hopkinton, Rhode Island, are a prehistoric archaeological site beneath two east-facing granite outcrops in the valley of Tomaquag Brook. Discovered by Nathan Kaye in the late 1950s, the shelters yielded evidence of human use over a long span of time, with one dated to about 800 B.C. and the other to about A.D. 800. Artifacts included projectile points, stone knives, signs of stone tool making, and fire pits in both shelters. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, the site later received added protection through transfer to the state, a park use agreement, and a 2019 master plan tied to nearby development.
