The Tourne is a five hundred forty-seven-acre county park in Morris County, New Jersey, spanning Mountain Lakes, Denville, Boonton Township, and Parsippany. Centered on a small mountain, it is known for trails leading to wide views over the Rockaway Valley and, on clear days, toward New York City. Its modern history is closely linked to Clarence Addington DeCamp, who assembled much of the land in the late eighteen fifties, built two summit roads by hand, and encouraged residents to explore the area. The county acquired the first two hundred nineteen acres in nineteen fifty-eight and opened the park in nineteen sixty. Today it offers extensive trails, recreation areas, and a nine eleven memorial at the overlook.
