The Soldier honors those who served the country in time of need. Created by sculptor Charles Blaze Vukovich in November 1970, it was restored and rededicated on July 13, 2000 through the work of an ad hoc restoration committee that included Ed Raffo, Bob Graillat, Joseph Maugeri, Charley Bryce, Judi Sussman, Diana Thomasian, and Catherine Vukovich, with support from many hundreds of contributors. American Legion Post 226 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 376 sponsored it.
