Forged by the Meneely Bell Co. in West Troy, New York, in 1875, this bronze alloy courthouse bell was placed in the courthouse bell tower in 1876. Including its yoke and cradle, it weighs 1102 lbs, its bottom width is 34 inches, and when rung its main tone is B flat. It was removed from the bell tower in September 2008 and placed in a new home on the courthouse lawn in the summer of 2012 through the collaboration of the GFWC Menominee Woman’s Club and the Menominee Area Arts Council.
