Vly Mountain
Nature
Vly Mountain is a Catskill peak in Halcott, New York, surrounded by Bearpen Mountain, Vinegar Hill, Kipp Hill, and Beech Ridge. It is notable for a local drainage divide: water from its north and east slopes flows through the Schoharie, Mohawk, and Hudson system toward New York Bay, while water from its south and west slopes runs through Vly Creek, Bush Kill, Dry Brook, and the East Branch of the Delaware River toward Delaware Bay. The mountain is also known as a hiking destination in the Catskills, and near the lower part of the trail from the hunters cabin, old cars remain in an overgrown wooded area.
