On the Battlefield of Fallen Timbers, in unmarked graves, rest soldiers of General Anthony Wayne's Legion of the United States and the Kentucky Volunteers who were killed on August 20, 1794, in a victorious conflict with Indians and their British allies. Thirty-three were killed in action, including Captain Robert MisCampbell, Lieutenant Henry B. Towles, Sergeant James Mayfield, Sergeant Aaron Gilbert, and privates from the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sub-Legions, the Dragoons, and the Kentucky Volunteers, along with eight privates whose names are unknown. Eleven died of wounds, including Corporal John Chase and privates John Long, James Mills, Alexander McIntosh, Francis Baldwin, and James Jones, while five names were unknown. Eighty-nine were wounded, including Captain Abner Prior, Captain Jacob Slough, Captain Solomon VanRensellaer, Captain Rawlins, Lieutenant Oamerell Smith, Lieutenant McKenny, and Ensign Duncan, as well as four sergeants, two corporals, two musicians, and seventy-four privates whose names are unknown.
