For decades, Acworth's only hotel stood at the corner of Main and Lemon Streets as the Litchfield House, later known as the Acworth Hotel. First built after the Civil War, the original structure was replaced in the 1890s by an ornate brick building. More than a hotel, it served as a center for community events and meetings, where doctors saw patients, politicians gave speeches, and couples married. Business travelers and vacationers stayed in its 36 rooms, which offered modern features such as air ventilation, built-in closets, and running water. A succession of families managed the hotel until 1961, when it was demolished and replaced by a supermarket. The site is now home to Lacey Drug Company.
