Narcissa Prentiss
History
Narcissa Prentiss was a student of Franklin Academy, the wife of Dr. Marcus Whitman, and the first white woman to cross the Rocky Mountains. Dr. and Mrs. Whitman gave their all to save Oregon for the United States, and she was massacred in 1847 by Indians.
