Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City is one of the largest science museums in the United States, with a more than 390,000-square-foot campus devoted to nonprofit science learning. Founded in 1958 as the Kirkpatrick Planetarium, it expanded over decades from its Fairgrounds home into a broad museum complex that added aviation, gardens, and Oklahoma’s first large-format dome-screen theater before taking its current name in 2007. Its major attractions include interactive science galleries, immersive children’s spaces, aviation and space exhibits, the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame, and planetarium programming, now centered on Love’s Planetarium, which opened in 2024.
