The American Pigeon Museum and Library in Oklahoma City preserves the history of pigeons and their domestication in the United States, with strong emphasis on domestic and homing pigeons, pigeon racing, wartime message service, and fancy breeds. Founded in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, as the American Homing Pigeon Institute, it moved to Oklahoma City in 1993 and later reopened in a new building in 2014. Its collections include racing clocks, military memorabilia, paintings, taxidermy specimens, and international materials, while its library holds broad pigeon-related resources. The site also includes the World of Wings aviary and serves as headquarters of the American Racing Pigeon Union.
