The stained glass window was given to the citizens of Clermont County by the Clermont County Ohio Bicentennial Celebration Committee as a legacy project, a preservation of history, and a commitment to education. Surrounding the geographic borders of the county, it depicts a landmark or icon of significance for each city and township. It was unveiled and dedicated at the county courthouse in Batavia, Ohio on May 26, 2000. The landmarks and icons shown are the Promont Museum for the City of Milford; the township flag for Miami Township; the Anchorage House for Goshen Township; the Stonelick Covered Bridge for Stonelick Township; Stonelick State Park for Wayne Township; the Hartman Log Cabin for Jackson Township; the Old County Courthouse for Batavia Township; the Dairy House at Harmony Hill for Williamsburg Township; the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial Building for Tate Township; Lock House No. 34 at Meldahl Dam for Franklin Township; the Underground Railroad Candle for Washington Township; the Ulysses S. Grant Birthplace for Monroe Township; Amelia United Methodist Church for Pierce Township; a riverboat on the Ohio River for Ohio Township; and Mt. Carmel School for Union Township.
