Mission Los Santos Angeles de Guevavi was first established by Father Eusebio Francisco Kino in 1691, and this site contains its ruins. The property was donated to The Archaeological Conservancy by Ralph Wingfield on July 5, 1988, in memory of Marjorie Bangs Wingfield, for a permanent Archaeological Preserve. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark, the property has received funding assistance from the National Park Service and Arizona State Historic Preservation Office/State Parks Board.
