The Vietnam War Memorial is dedicated to the men and women from the Town of Huntington who served the country with pride and honor during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1975. It highlights significant events of the war, including the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, the Da Nang Landing, Operation Rolling Thunder, the Ia Drang Valley Campaign, the Battle of Binh Dinh, Operation Prairie, the Battle of Con Thien, the Battle of Dak To, the Tet Offensive, the Battle of Hue, the Battle of Khe Sanh, the A Shau Valley Campaign, the Battle of Hamburger Hill, the Cambodian incursion, troop withdrawals, the Paris Peace Accord, prisoner of war exchange, and the Fall of Saigon, and it records the names of Huntington residents who served, including those killed in action, those killed in service, and those who served in country in the Republic of South Viet Nam.
