History
1
McGuffee Mounds is an archaeological site with as many as 6 mounds on the west bank of the Ouachita River. Several of the mounds are well preserved and visible from the road, and a C-shaped earthen ridge encloses them. Radiocarbon dates suggest Indians built these earthworks around AD 600, although people lived here as early as 1400 BC.
