Tew Lake has three small, irregularly shaped mounds. The two in pasture on the south side of Routon Road are almost four feet tall. The one north of Routon Road has been reduced in height by plowing and is less than three feet tall. Soil studies and artifacts found here suggest Indians built the mounds around 3000 B.C.
