Black Cap is a mountain in Conway, New Hampshire, within the Green Hills Preserve, rising on the Green Hills ridge between Kearsarge North Mountain and Peaked Mountain. Its rocky summit is known for wide views into Maine and across New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Part of a chain that also includes Hurricane Mountain and Middle Mountain, it is linked on its western subpeak to Cranmore Mountain and the recreation area there. The mountain lies wholly in the Saco River watershed, drained by several brooks before the river reaches the Gulf of Maine. Today it is valued mainly for scenery, hiking, mountain biking, and its connections to the wider Green Hills trail network.
