Needle Peak is a 1,769-metre, 5,804-foot mountain in the Panamint Range of the northern Mojave Desert in eastern California. It stands within Death Valley National Park, where it forms part of a protected desert landscape. Set among the rugged mountains that mark the western side of Death Valley, the peak is important chiefly for its geographic and scenic setting. It belongs to one of the most dramatic elevation-contrast landscapes in the United States and to a national park widely known for its stark desert terrain.
