Sugarloaf Knob
Nature
Sugarloaf Knob is a summit in Pennsylvania's Ohiopyle State Park at the southern end of Laurel Ridge. Its distinctive profile makes it a recognizable landmark from overlooks in the park and nearby surroundings. Below the knob and Laurel Hill, the Youghiogheny River has carved a chasm about 1,700 feet deep, while the highest nearby ground rises to 2,920 feet above sea level at the south end of Laurel Hill Ridge. Despite its prominent appearance, Sugarloaf Knob is relatively easy to reach by park road and then a short bushwhack to the top.
