A log cabin built before 1800 stands on the grounds of the Red Bird River Community Hospital of the Evangelical United Brethren Church Center. It was erected by Dillion Asher, who was born in 1774 and died in 1844, and is buried near the log house. Asher was the keeper of the first toll-gate in Kentucky, near Pineville, established by the legislature in 1795; fees were paid for improvements on the Wilderness Road.
