Roberta Campbell Lawson was a contributor to American Indian arts and culture and served as national president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs U.S.A. from 1935 to 1938. The sculptor was Leonard McMurry, and the donors were the Oklahoma State Federation of Women's Clubs in 1968.
