The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville, Iowa, beside Knoxville Raceway, preserves the history of sprint car racing and honors the people who shaped the sport, including drivers, owners, mechanics, builders, promoters, officials, manufacturers, and media members. Founded as a nonprofit in 1986, it opened its $1.7 million facility on the Marion County Fairgrounds in 1992. The four-story complex includes extensive exhibit space for restored race cars and memorabilia, along with a library and research center, theater, banquet areas, and race-viewing clubhouse. Its nationally organized hall of fame induction process and later expansion have made it a central institution in the sport’s national history.
