The New Kensington Area Rotary Club designed and maintained this garden in 2003. Rotary members are business and professional leaders who share a desire to help people in need, make the world a better place to live, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and build goodwill and peace in the world. The 4-Way Test was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor, who later served as Rotary International President, when he was asked to take charge of a company facing bankruptcy. This 24-word test became a guide in every aspect of business, and the survival of that company is credited to this simple philosophy. Rotary adopted the 4-Way Test in 1943, and it has been translated into more than a hundred languages and published thousands of ways. It has become a guide for the things people think, say, or do.
