Old Settlers' Cemetery contains the graves of many nineteenth- and early twentieth-century residents, including members of the Banholzer, Bohlander, Fippenger, Glos, Holtz, Kiefer, Langguth, Lasser, Meier, Moritz, Schreiber, Wellman, and other families, with inscriptions giving names, birth and death dates, ages, family relationships, and in some cases places of origin such as Rhein-Pfalz, Germany, Herringen, and America, as well as occasional notes such as William E. Glos's service on the U.S.S. Louisiana. The cemetery is located on Saint Charles Road about one-eighth mile east of the line between Cook and DuPage Counties, in Section 7, Proviso Township, Cook County, within the village limits of Berkeley, and its records were kept with DuPage County because most of those buried there were residents of York and Addison Townships.
