This memorial honors veterans of Jewish faith who served the United States of America in periods of national emergency from 1775 to 1918, all who served the country at home or on foreign soil, and those who died in World War II; it also remembers veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf, and records a site dedication on September 8, 1929, and a memorial dedication on September 8, 1940, by Jewish War Veterans of the United States, Department of Illinois, Yarmo DeVere Post No. 469, Department of Illinois, with the Department of Ladies Auxiliary in June 1991.
