Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin, is a 16-acre public garden founded in 1952 and named for Michael Olbrich. Operated by the City of Madison Parks and the Olbrich Botanical Society, it is organized as a series of distinct gardens, including sunken, rock, meadow, wildflower, herb, perennial, rose, and shade landscapes. Its most unusual feature is a Thai garden with a sala reached by a footbridge over Starkweather Creek, one of only six such structures outside Thailand. The Bolz Conservatory, opened in 1991, adds a tropical indoor environment with hundreds of plants, birds, and a koi pond, making the site both a horticultural attraction and a valued civic space.
