McPartland Mountain
Nature
McPartland Mountain is an 8,417-foot peak in the Livingston Range of Glacier National Park in Montana, located a little more than a mile south of Heavens Peak. Its name is believed to honor Frank McPartland, a man from eastern Montana who worked around nearby Lake McDonald for two seasons. He later drowned in a boating accident on the lake in the 1890s, linking the mountain’s name to the early human history of the area.
