The Chapel, whose architecture and tradition recalled Old Yale College, reflected the ideals that inspired the establishment of higher learning in the Western Reserve and was dedicated in 1836 to the service of Almighty God. The property has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
