Catlin Covered Bridge in Rockville, Indiana, is a 1907 covered road bridge built by Clark McDaniel as a single-span Burr Arch truss, combining a heavy arch with a multiple-kingpost truss inside a timber enclosure. It originally crossed Sunderland Creek on the Rockville–Rosedale Road north of Catlin, an old route toward Crawfordsville known as the Ben Hur Highway because of General Lew Wallace’s novel. Heavy farm truck use after U.S. Highway 41 opened helped wear the bridge out, and by the late 1950s it was condemned and closed. Local fundraising saved it, and in 1961 it was moved to the Rockville Golf Course, where it now crosses Bill Diddle Creek.
