Lancaster, Ohio, lost nineteen service members in the Vietnam War: Pfc William Edward Anderson on February 9, 1968; Lcpl David Allan Bartlett on October 26, 1967; Pfc James Russell Beatty on August 24, 1969; Pfc Arthur Daniel Brown on July 12, 1969; Cpl Ronald Lewis Griffin on June 29, 1968; Sgt Michael Lynn Griffith on September 6, 1968; Pfc William Thomas Haynes on February 1, 1966; 1lt David Neal Johnston on February 25, 1972; Pfc Richard Lee King on April 21, 1967; 1lt Albert Lewis Koon on May 15, 1969; Sgt Guy Eugene Lee on February 20, 1968; Ssgt Russell Burr Luker on February 1, 1966; Pfc Charles Edward McGarvey on July 30, 1966; Sgt Heber Joseph Miller on November 2, 1967; Sp4 Gary William Morris on January 14, 1970; Pfc Edward Lee Roark on March 5, 1966; Ssgt Junior Lee Schriner on December 19, 1967; Sp4 Christopher L. Shaeffer on July 15, 1970; and Cpl Terry Emerson Webb on March 13, 1968. Other Fairfield County communities also suffered losses: Baltimore, Ohio, Pfc Hurley Millard Boyd on April 2, 1969; Bremen, Ohio, Cpl Larry Keith Spangler on February 12, 1968, and Ssgt Larry Christopher Jordan on April 24, 1971; Canal Winchester, Ohio, Cpl David Allen Johnston on March 3, 1969, and Sp4 Rodney Franklin Stevens on August 4, 1969; Carroll, Ohio, Cpl John Richard Kemper on April 4, 1968; Stoutsville, Ohio, Pfc Walter Clay Blanton on September 28, 1968; and Sugar Grove, Ohio, Pfc William Eugene Ailes on December 8, 1967, and Sgt William Wallace Mcgrew III on November 27, 1967. Sn James Fred Dykes III was lost at sea on June 3, 1969.
