On February 27, 1992, the citizens of Warrick County dedicated a monument to the men and women from the county who served in the United States Armed Forces in Operation Desert Shield and Storm and to all military personnel involved in the liberation of Kuwait. It stood as a small token of appreciation for their bravery, sacrifices, and indelible spirit. Nine Hoosiers gave the full measure of devotion in this war, and blessings were invoked for the veterans of the United States of America.
