Charlotte Peak is an 8,065-foot mountain in Montana’s Swan Range within the Rocky Mountains, standing in the Bob Marshall Wilderness on Flathead National Forest land. It is known for its rugged setting and dramatic local relief, rising about 3,750 feet above Big Salmon Lake in only one mile. Runoff from the mountain drains toward Big Salmon Lake and the South Fork Flathead River. The peak lies in a subarctic climate zone marked by long, very cold winters and short, cool to mild summers. Winter temperatures can drop below −10 degrees Fahrenheit, and wind chills can fall below −30 degrees Fahrenheit.
