Mission Mountains Wilderness is a federally protected wilderness area in Montana within the Swan Lake Ranger District of Flathead National Forest. Established by Congress in 1975, it preserves a roadless, undeveloped landscape where motorized and mechanized travel, including bicycles, is prohibited and logging and mining are barred under wilderness management rules. The area is reached only by trail from surrounding roads, especially from Montana Highway 83 and logging roads on the east, with additional western access through the adjoining Mission Mountains Tribal Wilderness of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Camping, fishing with permits, and seasonal hunting are allowed.
