Summit County Courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its cornerstone was laid in 1909 on the "Most Beautiful spot in Summit County," and the building was dedicated on St. Patrick's Day, 1910. The cornerstone was rededicated by the Masonic Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Colorado on August 8, 2009. The cornerstone records that it was erected A. D. 1909 under County Commissioners A. W. Phillips, W. H. Hampton, B. F. Rice, and John J. Huddart, with the work laid by the M. W. Grand Lodge A. F. & A. M. of Colorado in A. D. 1909, A. L. 5909.
