Santa Fe Plaza has been the heart of Santa Fe since its founding by Spanish colonial Governor Don Pedro De Peralta in 1609-1610. This public space was a terminus of El Camino Real and the Santa Fe Trail, and it holds national significance in the history of the United States of America.
