Angle Fly Preserve is a six hundred fifty-four-acre protected area in Somers, New York, managed by the Somers Land Trust and named for Angle Fly, regarded as Westchester County’s last naturally spawning brook trout stream. The land was purchased in May 2006 for $20.5 million from a real estate developer, stopping a planned housing project with support from New York City, the town of Somers, Westchester County, and New York State. It opened to the public on October 3, 2009, with the Yellow Trail, and by 2017 its trails extended beyond ten miles. Valued as open space, it also shelters abundant wildlife, especially turtles and birds.
