John Jay, the United States’ first Chief Justice, retired here after drafting New York’s first constitution and serving as President of the Continental Congress and Minister to Spain. The site is part of the Revolutionary War Heritage Trail, which links historic sites that tell the story of New York’s decisive role in America’s fight for independence.
