Men and women of the Armed Services of the United States, especially the citizens of Baltimore County, saved the world from tyranny from December 7, 1941 to August 15, 1945 and preserved the independence of South Korea from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953. Theirs was the most remarkable generation of the twentieth century.
