System Source Computer Museum in Hunt Valley, Maryland, traces the history of computation from ancient calculating tools to modern computers through a collection of more than 5,000 objects, many still in working order. Its origins began in 1981, when obsolete inventory at a Baltimore ComputerLand franchise quickly became historically significant after the IBM Personal Computer appeared. Incorporated as the Maryland Technology Museum in 2018, it became the new home of the DigiBarn Computer Museum in 2021. Its exhibits include devices from the abacus and slide rule to major mainframes, personal computers, and supercomputers, while also offering STEM workshops, programming sessions, and docent-led tours.
