Built in 1871 in Clark Township west of Martinsville, Ohio, the Martinsville Road Covered Bridge carries Martinsville Road over the East Fork of Todds Fork of the Little Miami River. The 72-foot multiple kingpost bridge was built by Zimri Wall, and the span is especially important because Wall co-founded the Champion Bridge Company the next year. That company later considered this bridge its first project. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, it is recognized for both its age and its role in Ohio’s bridge-building history as a surviving example of 19th-century rural transportation and craftsmanship.
