The Donald Schaberg House in Okemos, Michigan, is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home created for Donald and Mary Lou Schaberg as an example of his Usonian approach to modern domestic architecture for middle-class families. Inspired by Wright’s nearby James Edwards House, the Schabergs commissioned their own house in 1950 after meeting Wright at Taliesin, though delays meant it was not built until 1957 and completed in 1958. The house later evolved through additions that reflected the family’s continuing role: John H. “Jack” Howe designed an addition in 1964, Donald Schaberg added a 40-foot tower in 1968, and a swimming pool followed in 1973.
