In the latter half of 1947, John Ford built the Balcony Building set for the movie Fort Apache, and it became the location for numerous films and countless television programs. A photograph shows Gene Autry in front of the Balcony Building during the filming of a scene from Indian Territory. Notable films shot at this location include Fort Apache, Apache, Escape From Fort Bravo, Ambush, The Gun That Won The West, Slaughter Trail, and Soldiers Three.
