Established during the Reconstruction period on land given by local merchant D.H. Fields, for whom the community and cemetery were named, and by Confederate veteran J.W. Day, Fields Store Cemetery became the burial place of early settlers of the area and their descendants, including veterans of five wars, and is under the management of the Fields Store Cemetery Association.
