Wellington State Park is a two hundred twenty-acre public recreation area on the southwest shore of Newfound Lake in Bristol, New Hampshire, known for the largest freshwater swimming beach in the New Hampshire state park system and for combining lakeside access with forested trails. The park began in 1931 when Elizabeth R. Wellington transferred the Wellington Reservation to the state for $1. During the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps helped develop the property into a public park. Today it offers swimming, fishing, non-motorized boating, hiking, and picnicking, with a seven-mile trail system leading to Little Sugarloaf and Big Sugarloaf.
