Tenkiller State Park is a 1,190-acre Oklahoma state park on Lake Tenkiller in the northeast near Vian and Gore, beside one of the state’s largest reservoirs and next to a 2,590-acre wildlife management area. Added to the state park system in 1953 on land leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, it takes its name from the Tenkillers, a prominent Cherokee family with local landholdings. The park combines lodging, camping, swimming, hiking, boating, fishing, and nature facilities with an unusual underwater scuba diving park. Its woods and shoreline support diverse trees and wildlife, including wintering bald eagles, and it also drew visitors during the 2024 solar eclipse.
