The M60 main battle tank entered service with the United States Army in 1960. Built in the United States of America, it has a crew of four and is armed with one 105mm gun, one 7.62 mm machine-gun co-axial with the main armament, and one 0.5in anti-aircraft machine-gun in the commander's cupola. Its dimensions are 30ft 6 in in length with the gun forward, 22ft 9½in in hull length, 11ft 11in in width, and 10ft 8in in height. Its combat weight is 108,000 lbs. It is powered by a Continental AVDS-1790-2A 12 cylinder diesel developing 750 bhp at 2,400 rpm. Its performance includes a road speed of 30 mph, range of 30 miles, vertical obstacle of 3ft, trench of 8ft 6in, and gradient of 60 percent. It is also used by Austria, Ethiopia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jordan, North Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Somalia, South Korea, Sudan, Turkey, and the United States Marine Corps.
