Dignity stands at a crossroads and echoes the interaction of earth, sky, and people. She brings to light the beauty and promise of the indigenous peoples and cultures that still thrive on this land. Intended to stand as an enduring symbol of a shared belief that all here are sacred and in a sacred place, she was a gift to the people of South Dakota from The Norm and Eunable McKie Family. The sculptor was South Dakota Artist Laureate Dale Claude Lamphere, and it was received by Governor Dennis Daugaard and dedicated September 17, 2016.
