In 1915, Harry Stansfield, a native of England, and Dr. Y.E. Wright erected the two-story building as the home of Orange Pharmacy. Its mezzanine gallery was white with mahogany furnishings, and citizens admired the marble soda fountain and the newly invented victrola playing the latest music. Later, Stansfield played an instrumental role in developing the school of pharmacy at the University of Florida. The building also provided upstairs offices for attorneys, photographers, dentists, and physicians.
