Quayle Vice Presidential Learning Center
Civics
In downtown Huntington, Indiana, this museum occupies the renovated former First Church of Christ, Scientist in the Old Plat Historic District, in the city where former Vice President Dan Quayle attended high school. Opened to the public on June 17, 1993, and dedicated that October, it evolved through several names before taking its current one in 2008. Its exhibits are arranged around the office of vice president and Quayle’s career, with the first floor covering the history of all United States vice presidents and the second featuring memorabilia and a theater. School programs and exhibits on Indiana’s many vice presidents underscore the state’s notable role in vice-presidential history.
