J. Edward Roush Lake in Huntington, Indiana, is a reservoir created when the J. Edward Roush Lake Dam was completed in 1968 for flood control and recreation. Formerly called Huntington Reservoir, it was later renamed to honor J. Edward Roush, who served in the Indiana legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives. The earthwork dam rises 91 feet and extends 6,500 feet across its crest, with capacities that reflect its main role in water management. Part of the Upper Wabash Reservoirs, the lake is jointly overseen by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and supports extensive outdoor recreation and wildlife uses.
