Lancaster built a monument on the site of the pioneers’ meetinghouse erected in 1784 in memory of its citizens who served in the wars of the country. It records Lancaster men who served in the Civil War from 1861 to 1865, the Colonial French and Indian War from 1755 to 1763, the Revolutionary War from 1775 to 1783, service against Great Britain from 1812 to 1815, the Canada Line in 1812, Indian Stream in 1835, the Mexican War in 1847, and the War with Spain and the Philippines from 1898 to 1900.
